.SYNOPSIS...
Warm weather will continue over the region through Friday with a
subtle cooling trend through the weekend. High pressure aloft will
contribute to a shallow marine layer with foggy conditions near
the beaches through Friday as well. Low clouds and fog will move
further inland by the weekend as a troughing pattern sets up
across the region. This will also bring breezy conditions across
the mountains and deserts. This pattern will continue into next
week with minimal day to day changes in the weather pattern with
highs above average inland and near average closer to the coast.

SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...

An area of high pressure centered over Baja California is
currently peaking in strength. This will continue the sunny skies
and warm temperatures across the region into Friday, along with a
shallow marine layer with foggy conditions at the coast. Satellite
imagery this afternoon shows fog beginning to clear in parts of
Orange County, with some clearing over the water off San Diego,
which may lead to some partial clearing in this area later this
afternoon/early evening. Foggy conditions will return to coastal
areas by Friday morning with a better chance of clearing at the
beaches Friday afternoon. The hottest temperatures of the next
seven days will occur for most areas on Friday as well. Confidence
is moderate to high in seeing temperatures hit at least 100
degrees across the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Coachella Valley.
Like today, highs will again be near 90 degrees from the high
desert, Inland Empire and far inland valleys/foothills of SD
County.

A trough off the coast will move closer to the region by the
weekend, bringing temperatures down by 5-10 degrees from where
they will be on Friday. The troughing pattern will also bring
windier conditions across the mountains and adjacent deserts as
NBM and WRF models show chances of seeing wind gusts over 30 MPH.
This chance will be lower on Friday near 20-50%, increasing 40-70%
by Saturday. West winds will favor the San Gorgonio Pass to see
the highest winds. The marine layer will deepen with the passage
of this system as well, where low clouds will extend further into
the valleys with fog more confined to higher coastal terrain.

Models are in fairly good agreement on a series of weak low
pressure systems moving through the region next week. This would
continue the benign weather pattern with highs slightly above
average inland and near average for the coastal areas with
night/morning low clouds as well.

.AVIATION...
101930Z...Coast/Inland Valleys...Patchy and intermittent fog, and
low clouds with bases 100-300 feet MSL will linger at beaches
through the afternoon. An almost identical scenario of low clouds
and dense fog will develop tonight into Friday, mainly after 06Z.
Bases will begin to rise slightly throughout the evening to around
300-500 feet MSL near the coastal areas and around 500-1500 feet MSL
for the inland areas, with coverage extending slightly further
inland than the previous night. Bases will then drop slightly going
into the morning hours, after 12Z. Patchy fog, especially near the
coastal areas will become more likely after this time and up until
around 16Z Friday, then should begin to scatter out thereafter.

Mountains/desert...mostly clear skies tonight and tomorrow with VFR
conditions..

Areas of fog with visibility 1 NM or less are expected again tonight
into tomorrow morning. Otherwise, no hazardous marine conditions are
expected through Monday.
